SUCCESSFUL SWINE PRODUCTION:
MANAGEMENT IS THE KEY

Dr. Morgan Morrow, 1995

Image from video clip. One of the primary jobs of the farrowing house staff is to care for the baby pigs. Not only do they need the warmth and security of their mother, the sow, they also need some additional care and attention. This video details seven of the most important procedures: trimming teeth, cutting the naval cord, giving supplemental iron, cutting tails, castration, ear notching, and taping splayed legs.
