Extension Interests: Devlop and conduct educational programs on swine breeding and genetic improvement; crossbreeding systems; carcass merit buying programs; producer networking; artificial insemination; general swine management. Utilize new technologies like the WWW for the delivery of NCSU Extension Swine Husbandry programs.
Research Interests: Conduct research on genetic evaluation procedures for growth, carcass and reproductive traits; evaluation of heterogenous variance amongst swine herds in genetic evaluation programs; evaluation and development of measurement procedures to determine lean gain; evaluation of economic value of muscle quality measures in pork production.
